OVERVIEW

Welcome to Salt + Soil! The terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Salt + Soil. Salt + Soil operates this store and website, including all related information, content, features, tools, products and services in order to provide you, the customer, with a curated shopping experience (the “Services”). Salt + Soil is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you.

The below terms and conditions, together with any policies referenced herein (these “Terms of Service” or “Terms”) describe your rights and responsibilities when you use the Services.

Please read these Terms of Service carefully, as they include important information about your legal rights and cover areas such as warranty disclaimers and limitations of liability.

By visiting, interacting with or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service or Privacy Policy, you should not use or access our Services.


SECTION 1 - ACCESS AND ACCOUNT

By agreeing to these Terms of Service, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in your state or province of residence, and you have given us your consent to allow any of your minor dependents to use the Services on devices you own or manage.

To use the Services, including accessing or browsing our online store or purchasing any of our products or services, you may be asked to provide certain information, such as your email address, billing, payment, and shipping information. You represent and warrant that all information you provide is true, complete, and current, and that you have all rights necessary to provide this information.

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You may not transfer, sell, or assign your account to any other person.


SECTION 2 - OUR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

We provide meal delivery and Private Chef services. We make every effort to accurately display our products and meals, but colors, textures, and presentation may vary based on your device and settings.

All product descriptions and prices are subject to change at any time without notice. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any item, service, or offering at our discretion.


SECTION 3 - ORDERS AND SUBSCRIPTIONS

When you place an order, you make an offer to purchase, which we may accept or reject at our discretion. Orders are not final until payment has been successfully processed and you receive confirmation.

Subscription Orders

  • Orders must be placed or updated by Saturday at 8:00 PM for Tuesday delivery.

  • Payments automatically process on Saturday at 8:00 PM.

  • Pauses, cancellations, or order changes must be made before this cutoff.

  • If you miss the deadline, please email support@saltandsoilsd.com. We’ll do our best to accommodate late changes, but we cannot guarantee them as production begins Sunday morning.

  • We do not offer refunds for late order updates. In some cases, if we are able to accommodate your change, we may apply a credit to your account minus a 15% processing fee.

  • By subscribing, you authorize Salt + Soil to charge your selected payment method automatically until paused or canceled.

Private Chef Services

  • A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking.

  • Cancellations made 7 days or more before the scheduled service are eligible for a full refund of the deposit.

  • Cancellations within 7 days forfeit the deposit.

  • Final payment is due 24 hours before the service.

  • Clients must provide a safe, functional kitchen and communicate dietary restrictions at booking. Ingredient substitutions may occur based on availability.

Private Chef Cancellation Policy

  • Cancel more than one week: full refund

  • Cancel between between 4-7 days in advance: 75% refund

  • Cancel between 2-4 days in advance: 50% refund

  • Cancel between 24-48 hours in advance: 25% refund

  • Cancel within 24 hours: no refund

SECTION 4 - REFUNDS AND HAPPINESS GUARANTEE

We do not offer refunds except in cases of a serious issue caused by us.

  • Quality concerns must be reported within 24 hours of delivery to be eligible for a replacement or credit.

  • We are committed to customer satisfaction and will make every reasonable effort to resolve issues promptly.


SECTION 5 - SHIPPING AND DELIVERY

Deliveries occur Tuesdays between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Orders are delivered in insulated bags with ice packs and left at your front door unless otherwise specified.

You will receive delivery notifications via email and/or text. Once delivery is completed, responsibility for the product transfers to you. Salt + Soil is not liable for lost, stolen, or spoiled food after delivery confirmation. Meals must be refrigerated within 30 minutes of delivery.


SECTION 6 - PRICES AND BILLING

All prices are in U.S. dollars and subject to change without notice. The price applicable is that in effect when your order is placed.

We accept major credit cards and electronic payment methods. Returned checks are subject to a $35 fee, and late payments may accrue 1.5% monthly interest. Applicable sales tax will be added where required by law.

All transactions are processed securely through third-party gateways using SSL encryption, and we do not store card data.


SECTION 7 - DIETARY RESTRICTIONS AND ALLERGIES

Customers must inform us of any allergies or dietary restrictions when placing orders. While we take precautions, our kitchen processes common allergens, and we cannot guarantee against cross-contamination. Salt + Soil is not liable for allergic reactions if allergies were not disclosed.


SECTION 8 - INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All content, including text, logos, graphics, images, and software, is the property of Salt + Soil or its licensors and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any part of our content without prior written permission.


SECTION 9 - OPTIONAL TOOLS AND THIRD-PARTY LINKS

We may provide access to third-party tools or links that we do not control. Your use of such tools or links is entirely at your own risk. We are not responsible for third-party websites, content, or transactions. Please review their policies before engaging with them.


SECTION 10 - PRIVACY POLICY

All personal information we collect is subject to our Privacy Policy, and certain information is also subject to Shopify’s Privacy Policy. By using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these policies.

Because our site is hosted by Shopify, certain data may be processed and stored outside your country of residence to enable order processing and improve service quality.

We use cookies to enhance your browsing experience and analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings if you prefer.


SECTION 11 - FEEDBACK

If you submit any ideas, suggestions, or reviews (“Feedback”), you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use and share that content for business purposes. You warrant that your Feedback does not infringe the rights of others.


SECTION 12 - ORDER MODIFICATIONS AND RIGHTS

We reserve the right to cancel or modify any order due to unavailability, mispricing, or error. If an order is canceled after payment, you will receive a full refund.

We may refuse service or terminate accounts at our discretion.


SECTION 13 - LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Salt + Soil shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, goodwill, or data, arising from your use of our products or Services.


SECTION 14 - FORCE MAJEURE

We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, pandemics, or government restrictions.


SECTION 15 - GOVERNING LAW

These Terms and any related disputes shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, with exclusive jurisdiction in San Diego County.


SECTION 16 - CHANGES TO TERMS OF SERVICE

You can review the most current version of these Terms of Service at any time on this page. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to update or modify these Terms by posting updates to our website. Continued use of our Services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
